Yesterday a memory from seven years ago popped up on my Facebook. On July 29, 2017, I posted a link to a PinkNews story lauding the actor, Liev Schreiber, for allowing his eight-year-old son, Samuel Kai, to attend Comic-Con dressed as the female Batman character, Harley Quinn.
“I love this so much,” I wrote above the article, because at that time I was still under the impression that “queer liberation” or whatever you want to call it was about defying gender norms rather than reifying them. I was interning at GLAAD at the time and so would very soon get the memo that little Samuel’s desire to don makeup and pigtails wasn’t an innocent expression of his inherent gender-nonconformity but actually a sign that there might be something wrong with him—that at the moment of his conception (or whenever it is that these things occur) the soul of Samuel had mistakenly entered a zygote with an X and Y chromosome when it was supposed to enter a zygote with two X chromosomes, therefore poor Samuel would need to be chemically castrated sometime around puberty so that his–excuse me, her–body would never develop male secondary sex traits, which would be terrible because then everyone would know of Samuel’s soul’s stupid mistake and Samuel would have to undergo about a million surgeries to make it look as if her soul had entered a female body like it was supposed to.
Rereading the PinkNews article, I see there were others who hadn’t gotten the memo yet either. The outlet shared some of their comments on Schreiber’s Instagram post about his family trip to Comic-Con. “Thank you for raising your sons in the public eye in such an open minded way,” wrote one. “Allowing [Samuel] Kai to have a costume of a different gender will inspire so many kids out there and not to mention letting their parents know it’s ok and the world won’t explode.” Another said, “My heart is happy with this photo! Best Dad award goes to Liev. No one should ever try to make your child conform to what others think is right.”
Although it does seem that Nick Duffy, the article’s author, was at least privy to the enlightened new way we’re all supposed to think about sex and gender. Near the end of the article he wrote that Schreiber’s open-mindedness about his son’s gender expression made sense, since Samuel’s mother is the actress Naomi Watts, who “starred opposite Elle Fanning in [the] trans-themed drama 3 Generations.” It’s a subtle detail, but it did what it was supposed to do, which was to plant the idea in the reader’s mind that Samuel isn’t a girly boy who will probably grow up to be gay but rather a girl held captive inside a boy’s body.
Eight years later, Samuel is sixteen and all grown up—well, as much as a boy can grow up if his puberty was blocked and his body has been denied testosterone. He goes by Kai now, and she rather than he.
That’s right, Samuel is no longer a gender-expansive male but rather a super-skinny “girl” model for the Italian luxury fashion house, Valentino.
Kai is just one among many. Last week Chadwick Moore wrote an article for the New York Post about Miles Yardley, who medically transitioned at fifteen and, in his early twenties, moved to New York, where he “quickly became the toast of [the] downtown fashion scene.” He soon landed a modeling contract and booked a job with Marc Jacobs.
Miles told Moore, “I think I benefited from the [trans] identity in terms of being a model, being a socialite, a party attendee in New York City, and it was a cool, cosmopolitan, artistic thing to be doing with your body.”
So long as you’re anorexic, anyway. The NYC “in-crowder” who encouraged Miles to get into modeling told him he needed to lose twenty pounds first.
Then there’s Zaya (née Zion) Wade, the son (“trans daughter”) of the former basketball player Dwyane Wade. (Zaya’s stepmother is the actress Gabrielle Union.) At eight, Zaya came out as gay, a revelation his family chose to keep quiet for fear of public scrutiny. According to his father, four years later, Zaya told his parents, “I don't think I'm gay. I think I’m a straight trans because I like boys.”
Apparently this news was less daunting to his athlete father, because in 2020, when Zaya was twelve, Dwyane proudly stated on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that Zaya was a girl.
“We are proud parents of a child in the LGBTQ+ community,” he said, after Ellen, a lesbian who apparently doesn’t care about what’s happening to future generations of gay people, told him how amazing he was for supporting his child. For some reason, I can’t imagine Dwyane Wade stating quite so proudly that his son’s a gay sissy.
Basically these boys are now castrated drag queens who will be chained to the medical industry for the rest of their lives.
In the Post, Moore wrote that Miles was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor and has hypothyroidism—two conditions with suspected links to hormone therapy.
Miles has since moved to California and is now detransitioning. He told Moore what other detransitioned gay men have told me—that on hormones he was “mentally unstable,” “cognitively impaired,” and “generally fatigued.” And, just like those other men, Miles has been left without a road map, since there aren’t any doctors who know how to care for detransitioners.
“They just say, ‘You should ask someone else,’” Miles told Moore. “At a certain point, how many other people can I ask before I just figure it out on my own?”

I have known many gender nonconforming lesbians who also jumped on the trans train. Most of them died young. Taking testosterone shortens your life.
Some got weird cancers, others had major organ failures. Some were appalled when their hair fell out. They didn't realize they were going to go bald. Some said things like, "I thought I'd be taller." Sorry girl, you have XX genes.
Just like male transgenders who desperately try to look like a pornstar, these lesbians imagined they'd turn into a tall, beautiful, sexy male movie star. When the doctor said I can turn you into a man, they actually believed that. Many killed themselves when they realized all they had done was become hairy women.
It breaks my heart what transgender ideology has done to lesbians and gay men.
This just makes me so unbearably sad.
