Did Our Side Win?
A post-election conversation with Lisa Selin Davis, Corinna Cohn, Eliza Mondegreen, and Jamie Reed
This week I got to speak with four of my favorite people: author and journalist Lisa Selin Davis, Heterodorx podcast cohost Corinna Cohn, researcher and writer Eliza Mondegreen, and pediatric gender clinic whistleblower Jamie Reed. We talked about the election, Rep. Nancy Mace’s bathroom crusade, what the next four years might look like, and lots of other interesting stuff. This was a candid, no-holds-barred conversation that I think a lot of you will really enjoy.
An MP3 audio file follows the video, for those who prefer to listen. Feel free to leave a comment and share across your socials!
Thank you for a wonderful thoughtful conversation! You five are some of my most favorite writers/speakers/podcasters. It was like a celebrity sighting to see you all together.
So, yes, please do this again (and again!).
As to the issue of backlash to Trump, and the possibility that some will double down on gender ideology, I agree that is likely. However, if federal and/or state policies successfully push back on gender ideology, those policies will reduce the harm overall.
I'd rather see the end of pediatric gender clinics in 40 states, say, even if the other 10 go nuts because that's 40 states where the horror is not happening. There will always be people who go overseas or go underground to do this stuff--can't stop that--but if the broad majority of young people simply don't have access to this "care," then that will be a good thing in the long run.
Post op male transgender-identified people need to be banned from female spaces. If you let any male break women's boundaries, every man can. The worst of the worst will do so because the law lets them. That's why we have male convicted rapists claiming to be women. Our Dem governments put them in female prisons because Democrats are ideologically captured. Guess what those male convicted rapists are now doing. They're raping female prisoners, who are likely in prison for financial crimes like theft or writing bad checks. Men are in prison primarily for violent crimes. Like rape and murder. Everyone who votes for Democrats is personally responsible for these policies. Everyone who prioritizes male rights above female are part of the problem.
I'm one of those 20 million Dems who refused to vote for Democrats this year. We didn't leave the Party, it left us.
For the record: A man who gets his penis cut off is not a woman. We are not d!ckless men. We are unique in our own right. We are not little men. We are not a subset of men. How much longer are we going to pretend that the inane chant, “Trans women are women” is anything but a farce? Transwomen are men, by definition. I get it that it's hard for some of you to look at a male person who has a pretty hairdoo and facial feminization surgery and fake boobs and remember that you're looking at a dude. That's because your brains are visually oriented to sex characteristics. But if you want to know if a transwoman is really a woman, ask lesbians. We're the ones getting kicked off lesbian dating apps for not wanting to have sex with men who have fake boobs.
